Stephen Lehn
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Stephen Lehn is a Co-Founder and the Chief Executive Officer of TopSide Marinas, a growing national network of eleven marina locations and a dock-building business. Over his career, he has led the integration and operations of 55 marina locations nationwide, blending strategic vision with hands-on operational expertise.
A lifelong boater who grew up on the lakes of North Texas and along the Gulf Coast, Stephen brings a unique blend of personal passion and professional discipline to his work. His leadership reflects a commitment to building enduring businesses, developing high-performing teams, and fostering authentic relationships—values that continue to shape the culture of TopSide Marinas.
Stephen and his wife, Michelle, are the blessed parents of Catherine (9) and Peter (7). Together, they share a deep commitment to faith, family, and community. The Lehn family are parishioners at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands, Texas, and are actively involved in the St. Joseph’s Foster Care and Adoption Ministry.

Jacob M. Boan, CFA
Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer

Jacob co-founded TopSide Marinas in 2020, which has since grown to 11 marina locations and a dock building company. Prior to TopSide, Jacob served as Senior Portfolio Manager at Landmark Bank, where he assembled customized investment portfolios for institutions & individuals. Prior to Landmark, Jacob led the Finance and FP&A departments at a marina investment platform, where he directly oversaw more than $350 million of senior debt, preferred equity, and common equity transactions. He also served as lead analyst of corporate acquisitions totaling $100 million in asset value. Jacob earned his Master’s degree in Finance from UMKC and BBA in Finance & Accounting from Pittsburg State, where he played four years of NCAA collegiate baseball. Jacob is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of DFW. Jacob grew up boating with his family on lakes in Kansas and the Lake of the Ozarks.

Capt. Michael McMahon
Regional Vice President of Operations

Michael joined TopSide in early 2021. Prior to TopSide, Michael oversaw and managed “Sam’s Dock”, the boat rental, fuel dock, and marine retail store operation at Pier 121 Marina (the largest inland marina in Texas). Michael has previously owned and operated a Boat Charter business at Pier 121 from 2006 – 2018. He has worked in various industries including oil & gas and real estate. Capt. Michael holds a 100 ton Master Coastal Captain’s license.

Ryan Skiles
Regional Vice President of Operations

Ryan joined TopSide in August 2022. Prior to TopSide, Ryan was the Operations and Engineering Manager at Indiana Marine Products, where he oversaw the production and engineering teams of a $40 million-dollar supplier to some of the world’s largest boat builders by volume. Ryan was a lead technician at Marsh Brothers Pontoon Specialists before Indiana Marine. He spent seven years in the Army Active Duty as a combat medic, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant in his fifth year of service. Ryan earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Purdue and a Bachelor’s in Design Engineering from Trine University. He also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Villanova University and a graduate of WyoTech, Daytona in advanced marine technologies.

Greg Gast
Regional Vice President of Operations

Greg is a lifelong boating enthusiast and seasoned marine industry professional with many years of experience. His career began on the docks in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, working for a local boat rental and wave runner business – an experience that sparked his passion for boating and the marina lifestyle.
Over the years, Greg has built a broad foundation in marina operations, parts procurement, and service management. His leadership journey includes roles as Parts Manager, Service Manager, and General Manager at Bay Marine in Sturgeon Bay, where he developed strong teams and a service-driven culture focused on quality and customer satisfaction.
Outside of work, Greg enjoys spending time on the water with his family and exploring the harbors of the Great Lakes.

Thomas Joy
Director of Investments

Thomas joined TopSide in August 2021 and is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and closing marina investment opportunities. Prior to TopSide, Thomas spent six years working in the industry. During his tenure, Thomas was directly involved in the investment of more than $800 million of marina properties and collaborated with property management on operating and capital budgets. Thomas earned his Master’s degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University and Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Tom Fratini
Controller

Tom joined TopSide in 2024 as Controller, where he oversees corporate property accounting and the month-end close and consolidation processes. Prior to joining TopSide, Tom spent more than 18 years in finance and accounting roles across the construction, telecommunications, and professional services industries, including leadership in financial reporting, system implementations, and internal control initiatives. Tom is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Illinois and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University. Tom has visited 85 countries and enjoys traveling with his family and exploring new restaurants and festivals around Chicagoland.

Allyson Boan
Human Resource Director

Allyson joined TopSide Marinas in October 2021. Prior to joining TopSide, Allyson worked in a variety of HR roles including managing benefits, HRIS, and performance management for Pacific Union Financial and Riveron Consulting. Allyson earned an MBA in Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior from the University of North Texas and holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Allyson and her family are active in their local church, and she enjoys cooking for her family and others with food sensitivities.

Jenny LoBello joined TopSide in early 2021 and has played a key role in guiding the marketing strategy for each of our marinas. She brings more than 18 years of experience in brand development and marketing, having supported a wide range of businesses and well-known organizations.
Outside of work, Jenny enjoys spending time at the lake with her husband and their two daughters.
